2nd Term 2011 Newsletter
It is midterm already, and in a few more weeks your daughters will be bringing home their school reports or anxiously waiting for their Cambridge results. Please note that exeat is Friday 14 October 2011 only and the girls should be back at school on Monday 17 October 2011.
The Form 4s and U6A’s are now officially on study leave; they are however, welcome to use school facilities should they wish to do so but must wear their school uniform. Please ensure that your daughter’s school and DHL fees are fully paid before she comes to sit for her examinations.
There are a few girls who have been caught with their cell phones at school despite being fully aware that they are breaking a school rule. It is very true that cell phones distract learning, so the penalty for bringing a cell phone to school will go up with immediate effect. Offenders will pay $20 on collection and their cell phones will only be handed back at midterm or end of term (whichever applies ).
Parents please note that NO NEGOTIATIONS (to get the phone back sooner) will be entered into. Help us to make your daughters accountable and responsible.
We are also on a war path with students who will be found loitering in town, particularly around Haddon and Sly, Bulawayo Centre and Haefelis. This is against the school rules and I want to urge you to be familiar with your daughter’s timetable so that you collect her from school on time or ensure that she goes home soon after school.
The school has now launched a website which includes, among other things, school activities and regular updates of term activities. You can visit us on www.conventhighbulawayo.org
I wish you a pleasant short break with your daughters.
