3rd Term 2011 Newsletter
Dear Parents / Guardians
I trust that you had a good time with your daughters during the holiday break. It is good to see them back and from the onset showing such determination to excel in their work. Some of the ‘O’ and ‘A’ level students came for holiday lessons. I should like to express my profound gratitude to the teachers who used their holiday time to put final touches to syllabus work in preparation for the crucial examinations that are only four weeks away.
Mrs Msitini is back – thank you for your prayers.
Further to our development earmarked for 2011 we have installed a generator to cater for the Eastern Wing of the school in the event of the incessant powercuts. We are yet to install another one to cater for the western wing of the school, which should see us team up with the junior school. The Promethean Boards installed at the end of last term are up and running. The official handover ceremony is earmarked for 23 September 2011.
Thank you very much to all parents who have paid their school fees timeously. No student will be admitted into school without proof of total or first instalment payment of fees. Please be reminded that you can make a direct deposit of your school fees into the school Bank Account. Details are as follows :
N.M.B Dominican Convent High School
Account Number – 210187707
Code – 11311
Can I please make a fresh appeal to you parents to ensure that your daughter has a complete sports kit. It is compulsory for every girl to do at least one hour of sport per week. Some students have given the “no sports kit” excuse as the reason why they do not participate in school sports. Needless to say they have had to endure sports detention as a consequence of their non-participation. This should not be so as our girls should naturally desire to do sport due to the enormous energy they have.
To parents whose daughters are writing external examinations, please, be extra supportive. This is a crucial time for your daughter. She will need all the help, guidance and support that we can give. Let us team up and cheer them up as they do their final lap in this race.
Finally, I know I say this every summer term, so this summer is no exception. Please spoil your daughter with a good deodorant!!
